One of the most bizarre job applications I have been denied for was the team saying I wasn't motivated enough to work for the team.

The team was brand new, and just released the product in the last week I was interviewing.

I had experience doing the tasks using a competitors product, of course because there's only around 3 products that solve that problem and they had the best solution at the time.

Basically I was told I'm not motivated to use a product I previously couldn't use, even though I'm a domain expert in that space, and have been doing it for a while, and can literally point to work delivering competitors' solution for some pretty top teams in the space, that I also spent 4 weeks in the interview process for.

Position was open for months and is still open btw. 😑
