The infantilization is super true. Americans used to have a culture of homesteading, building your own, and even domestic policy was designed for people to go out, get jobs, build homes, etc.

Today, people want to do that in their 30s, and have normalized leaning on their families and the internet via donations to subsidize their life.

Its just bizarre to watch but I'm happy to see I'm not the only one noticing this.

I'll never knock someone's comeuppance but people playing the victim card for general life things that are under their control they should have planned for, then asking the public to fund their nonessential purchases is a level of grifting to me.

A small level, but grifting nonetheless.

Farcaster has a crowdfund app. And people use it for everything.
