Believe it or not, these shoes are 25 years old, and they’re still going very strong. It’s an Allen Edmonds Park Ave in burgundy. You can find shoes like this on eBay under $100. These kinds of shoes are meant to last a lifetime. Care for the leather (which is easy and kind of fun) and put shoe trees in after every use. It bugs me when I see people spend hundreds of dollars on disposable shoes here in the US. Not only a waste of a money, but it’s bad for the environment, and they’re just poor quality shoes.

My Johnston and Murphy shoes are the same. Have not failed me since my Brioni days

Not trying to be mean spirited, but Brioni is actually one of the brands I would say *never* buy 😂 You're paying maybe $1000+ for a shoe, which is a luxury brand, yes, but they are generally Blake stitched which compromises quality. That's the rub with most Italian shoes. Johnston and Murphy vintage shoes are outstanding. Their quality has been dropping a bit over the years, kind of like Florsheim. Hate to see it. I should also add I'm by no means an Allen Edmonds maxi...I just think it's a good starter dress shoe. Very good bang for the buck.
