These kinds of shoes are meant to last a lifetime. Care for the leather (which is easy and kind of fun) and put shoe trees in after every use. 

It bugs me when I see people spend hundreds of dollars on disposable shoes here in the US. Not only a waste of a money, but it’s bad for the environment, and they’re just poor quality shoes.

I can't think of a better bang for the buck for a dress shoe, especially for us Americans. If you want one dress shoe in your closest, that's the one to buy, and you'll never need to buy another...just remember the shoe trees and give it some conditioner here and there.

You're paying maybe $1000+ for a shoe, which is a luxury brand, yes, but they are generally Blake stitched which compromises quality. That's the rub with most Italian shoes. 

Johnston and Murphy vintage shoes are outstanding. Their quality has been dropping a bit over the years, kind of like Florsheim. Hate to see it.

I should also add I'm by no means an Allen Edmonds maxi...I just think it's a good starter dress shoe. Very good bang for the buck.

I'd wear them 2-3 times a week...these remain my favorite pair of Allen Edmonds. Something really luxurious about that burgundy color (they call that particular kind oxblood)

I've got something close to this in its 6th year in service.

Shoes like these here in Nigeria are costly but I'd like to get one of these for my friend and both of my brothers.
