Sad news: Stamen (SF data + cartography studio, major influence in the data viz scene since 2000’s) is shutting down Map Stack. Map Stack was a free service that let you create and host custom map tiles for Google Maps-style web maps. It never made money, so it’s no surprise Stamen wants to retire it. NFT Marketplace Update! Spent last night buidling from 11 to 2am after a 6 hour instruction/lifeguard shift. Got a lot built yesterday. I'm getting quite good at using Cursor by asking it to document and plan before doing work. This leads to MUCH higher quality solutions. No more duplicated code, bugs, redos, etc. I finished a major optimization refactor of the database yesterday with this approach. It loads SO QUICKLY now! Late-night was phase two: db-redesign. Finally the app's foundation is solid. Onto the marketplace functionality! So excited with how this is progressing.
