I'm not a huge sports fan in any regard, I just thought this was interesting because it isn't transparent when you read articles about this Lakers acquisition.

yeah, I don’t really watch sports either. I didn’t know about this until you shared it. People just seem excited that a billionaire bought the Lakers and don’t even care to look into it. 

the hypocrisy of people is maddening 😵‍💫

The Lakers were bought for $67.5 million in 1979 which is $300 million in today's dollars. That means they sold the team for 33x what they paid.

👀 hell of a long trade but damn did it pay off.

I'd imagine they made operating profit most if not all years too.
