Personal experience, keeping track of the days is bad. Tracking something you want to quit, doesn't allow your brain to redirect new neural pathways to cleaner dopamine. Non-users don't count the days away because they don't have withdraw pangs. Starving the little monster is easy, it's the big monster (mental) that takes us back but knowing this makes it easy to avoid. It's a short book I suggest reading in 1 day. It's advised to not stop until you've finished the book but since you already stopped you're fine. Read Allen Carr's book. It's out there on the web for free.

I heard so much about the book and read it. But unfortunately for me, while I did understand all the concepts, it didn’t make a huge change. I don’t entirely rely on self control right now. But definitely feel like tracking (provided my ADHD), it helps. Just like how i haven’t had a drink in 3 months, or how I’ve worked out 5 times each week for the past three weeks. Get it?
