I've seen a lot of renaissance sculpture and honestly the one on the right is more interesting to me at this point. Like, the pursuit of realism has a concrete end in any given medium. Absurdist abstraction is limitless.

I agree. However, I have a great appreciation for classical art and realism, although itโ€™s so much a flex on an artistโ€™s ability to render something so real looking to astonish viewers. Still though, it has its deep value to me, as creating something like a Mona Lisa or Statue of David is a high mark of achievement for an artist. Though, still limited to a point. Da Vinci cryptic genius he was, buried all kinds of messages in realistic paintings and so on. Despite this the human mind is so vast and receptive to so many concepts of art and creativity. I appreciate the craziness and the boundlessness of modern art. It stimulates my mind in very different and still yet profound ways.
