BREAKING – Israel has issued an urgent alert to civilians in the Iranian villages of Arak and Khondab, telling them to evacuate immediately ahead of planned strikes on "military infrastructure." The warning was posted early Thursday in Arabic and Farsi via IDF Telegram.

People in Iran don't call the language they speak "Persian"

Right. And when we speak English, it's not Farsi, the same way Spanish isn't espanol, Arabic isn't arabi, German isn't Deutsch, etc. Speaking English -> Persian Speaking Persian -> Farsi

So I did some research last night after you mentioned this. I guess a lot of people in Western countries called it Farsi but then In 2005, the Academy of Persian Language and Literature anathematised Farsi. Most Westerners (myself included) never got the message.
