thinking about switching to neovim full time...

so naturally i spent a bunch of time to make it look exactly like vscode 😅

slowly using neovim more and more daily...

one thing that caught me offguard is still have super slow type inference / hover docs, sometimes even slower than vscode.

suspecting it's our monorepo setup (maybe?). but no idea how to profile things to confirm that 😔

well, i had thought linting speed. obvs not the case (or i've set it up wrong)

navigating around files is way faster, since you are "forced" to use keyboard shortcuts everywhere

also closer to the terminal, so there's less bouncing back and forth between apps

It might be a timed delay setting in the LSP? I've always used a key binding like shift-k when my cursor is on a definition to see that info

nah i think its something else. like i can hit gd and it will make 20+ seconds to open the file. code actions are even worse, minutes later it pops up after i’ve moved on

oh wow, is Zed that much more performant?

But also on the flip side I've recently had issues with neovim in larger repos and switched to Zed 😬 Sticking so far,  planning on writing a blog post on it eventually
