Founders with international companies and employees, which HR system do you use to take care of payroll and benefits? I like the idea of Deel, but $599/month per FT employee just seems insane.

Hey Brian! I use Remote & Gusto. The high price at Deel is when you use them for Employee of Record. If you hire as Contractor, price is much lower. At one point I spoke to a NZ law firm about EOR vs contractor and Contractor was better for us and our hire. Just depends on the work. Feel free to DM with questions. 👍

💯fwiw, I had similar thinking but ended up hiring CTO as contractor (even with significant equity) after we spent $1500 to talk to an international employment lawyer. But circumstances vary 👍

Thanks Max! I'm thinking for later employees contractor is fine, but our first two paid will be CEO and CTO, which I believe would have to be FT.
