I suppose, it could be a representation of the concept that we carry a piece of the logos and thus inherit its rationality. If we cut ourselves off from the logos, we cut ourselves off from that which makes us whole. Just as if an optimistic rollup stopped syncing with L1, it would lose ethereum's security assurances
