I haven't listened to the Thiel interview yet but one thing I did find striking is the truly bizarre colour grading. you can see the original on the left and my 2-second correction on the right. you would be hard-pressed to grade this footage in a less flattering way, almost as if your explicit goal was to make the subjects look alien. blue casts are a non-starter for skin tones.

yeah, I have done this type of colour correction work (mostly for stills though) and this would be considered tremendously disrespectful. it wouldn't make it past any reasonable producer ("why is he blue...?").

that was my first thought - does no one on his team like him at all? also, it takes some little bit of tech know how to fix the problem, but not to tell the first pic is wrong
