having expensive hobbies is so brutal

anytime i want a new guitar or watch i have to exercise delayed gratification and setup a separate account to save up and make it worth it (adulting ew)

should have picked crochet or thrifting

anyways here is a new guitar and watch that I really want (not getting for a while)

totally relate to this. hifi is one of the most punishingly expensive hobbies there is. you can spend $10k on an accessory without batting an eyelash, nevermind an entire system.

what is considered“entry level” in hi-fi is so beyond perverse. $20k barely gets your foot in the door.

the one saving grace is that because audiophiles are neurotic and constantly switching gear, there’s an active used market so you can get your foot in the door by buying gear for ~25-50% retail list price. in some cases even less.
