so the tldr; on o3 pro is that vanilla o3 got nerfed and doesn’t think as long, whereas o3 pro is more thoughtful than even “old” o3

Old o3 was perfect for startups. Now you can use nerfed consumer o3 or o3-pro which seems to be for reasoning over huge datasets.

completely agree, we are missing an essential middle ground between new o3 and o3 pro. latter is too slow and clunky, former is too dumb like 4o.
