Big news. I'm now a Cursor Ambassador. Any suggestions or questions for the Cursor team? Send them over and I'll get them over.

Love cursor but honestly it feels like they’ve started monetizing their platform before it was ready. It’s shifting so rapidly and the results differ wildly. We’re seeing greed over product.

Some people have told me they’re losing money (which I found surprising). But either way they’re spending hundreds of millions on ai atm. Glad they’re not burning vc cash to give that for free. Almost many people think the platform is more than ready and a huge productivity boost which is why it’s growing so quick

I think they’re tarnishing their brand image which will make people jump ship as soon as a worthy competitor emerges. They’re up against Microsoft, Google and OpenAI. I personally switched to using https://github.com/yetone/avante.nvim

Have to disagree that asking customers to pay for a product ruins their brand. But you’re not the sort of customer anyone wants anyway. So makes sense to use a free version open source alternative.

It’s not the fact that it’s a paying it’s because the results are sub par and vary a lot from version to version. Their Reddit is filled with dissatisfied customers. I think everyone sees the potential, it’s just a bit frustrating https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor

If someone else has a better app then use that. ATM I haven’t seen it. And that’s why cursor is growing like crazy month on month. I actually don’t understand how you expect them to pay hundreds of millions for Llm calls and not charge. But if you want to be the one to do that you’ll get lots of users. Lmk once live!
