For a while it was good posting on Phaver which auto posted the same content onto Farcaster. Now it doesn’t seem to work anymore, and the reconnect profile button does nothing. Anyone else or just me?

Why do I ALWAYS lose motivation when I’m 95% to the finish line? Agreed to send my copy editor the final manuscript a week from now. Just need to do some last-minute tweaks and small things. And yet I just can’t bring myself to open Scrivener. Why, stupid brain, whyyy.

If you are looking for an editor, do yourself a favour and go straight to the professionals at Reedsy. Do not pass Fiverr and do not collect your $200 or whatever it is that you think you’re saving. I previously had my manuscript copy edited by an editor on Fiverr for about $500 usd… the outcome was okay, but I had the sneaking suspicion it wasn’t done at a professional level. So I decided to try again. I just requested sample edits and quotes from a few editors on Reedsy. I haven’t even decided on which one to hire yet, and the sample edits are already blowing me away. They caught SO MANY more issues, and they really took the time to explain the grammatical principles behind each one, highlighting areas where the industry standard is x but it’s ultimately my stylistic choice. Reedsy quotes are coming in around $1.5-$3k for a 90k word YA fantasy manuscript. So 3-6x more expensive than my first attempt, but I can DEFINITELY see what the money is being spent on. Not gonna skimp on this.

Not at all! I used getcovers.com which is a Ukrainian company who uses stock photos. It’s very cheap - $35 for the premium package with unlimited revisions. I was a bit dubious at first, but my experience has been stellar. Their sample covers on their front page are pretty representative of the quality I received.

Decided to self-pub, engaged a professional book cover designer, was very happy with their work on book 1 and have proceeded to order covers for books 2 and 3. (Planning to rapid release the trilogy mid-2025.) Funny how it doesn’t start to feel real until you have artwork!
