Each 20K loop was a bit slower that the previous one, but at least part of the difference was the gradually worsening mud as hundreds of runners further degraded the course conditions...

The field for this year's race was double previous years, and extra competitive, on account of it becoming a WSER qualifier. I finished 15th overall and 3rd in my age group. I was surprised that the wheels did not fall off, I kept telling my legs to move and they kept agreeing. 🤷‍♂️

While my Strava (iphone 13mini) counted 2,093m, others with proper running watches seemed to log 2,600m. That's 7,000-8,500 feet for my American frens.
