Hi friend, is it correct if I summarize how Farther V2 works like this (so I can explain it to people who ask): The idea is that we tip people who we bet will grow in Openrank throughout the month. The more the person who receives the tip grows, the more points we earn. And at the end of the month, these points are converted into Farther.

Roughly speaking that is correct. However, tipper scores are not "points" in the sense that tips are. They're more like weights used to determine how the rewards get divided. The rewards pool represents the combined positive tipper scores (weights), and your score represents a fractional share.
