Calling all Toyota & Lexus owners to check their VIN for this RECALL: Manufacturer Recall # 23TB15 Toyota has acknowledged that a defect in the Occupant Classification System (OCS) may result in the passenger airbag failing to deploy in the event of a crash. --> This directly compromises a core safety feature we relied on when choosing this vehicle. Despite the recall being announced more than a year ago (Dec 20, 2023), I was recently informed by Toyota Customer Service that there is still no remedy available and that no rental or loaner program is being offered in the meantime. -- Read More in Comments Toyota might not see this post—but if enough of us speak up, they won’t be able to ignore it. Another question: When I asked the Toyota Brand Representative on the phone what would happen in the event of a crash when the passenger would be severely injured or even die, he responded:"I can't speak in hypotheticals."
