Recovery is so important.
As an athlete, I’ve learned from different coaches, as well as doing my own research, about the importance of recovery.
Especially after games or hard trainings, you need to take the proper time to recover.
Sleep is #1 no question. But after that, your nutrition is a close #2.
I played back to back football games last night, and I am feeling it this morning for sure. You have to trust your body and know when you should keep pushing or when you should take a lighter day and focus on recovery and getting refreshed.
Today I’m doing some light mobility and stretch, compression boots for my legs, with a little hot tub, sauna, and steam room. These are all the extra little things to do to speed up recovery and get back on the field fresher than before.
