I feel like there's been a small Aaron Swartz cult in the US tech scene. 

He's always been portrayed as this lost prodigy kid that got pressed by the government so much that he committed suicide.

And although it's true and outrageous, as I read the history of Reddit, I learn that Aaron also was a pretty selfish dick.

Yeah... For me it was surprising that - contrary to Steve Jobs whose bad behaviors were well-known - Aaron was presented almost always positively

Genius can often come with a bite unfortunately 

He got a cofounder role at Reddit but didn't work on a project for months, spending time blogging instead.

He published a short story about him committing suicide and then was angry that his friends tried to save him.

He got work at the company they acquired and just didn't show up.

In what ways was he a selfish dick (genuinely curious)
