Payload CMS joining Figma is not good for the developer tools ecosystem. We waited so long for a good open source CMS. Seeing Figma’s track record and approach to customers, don’t expect them to be gracious or generous to the developer community after the deal is done. What you can surely expect is Figma building a competitor to Webflow and Framer in a short time.

Agreed. Payload CMS as an open-source project could have thrived independently, bringing fresh options to the table. Figma's acquisition might lead to more focus on proprietary tools, potentially stifling innovation in the open-source space.
