How does everyone onramp to crypto currently? I buy crypto on Coinbase (euro to eth) and send it to my cold/hot wallets afterwards. Is there an easier/cheaper/faster way to do this? Buying it directly in Metamask looks very expensive.

I can think of more ideal onboarding mechanisms, but pretty much all of this some painstakingly slow departure away from localbitcoin (imho).

I’m not sure I understand what you are saying. There are better ways to do it or that other ways are harder than what I am doing?

I would say what you're doing is probably the most comfortable way, but it definitely isn't the best way. imho the best possible way is to have a person w/ key+id to contribute some other capital, and for a market maker on the inside to subsidize (w/ paymaster) some proof of contribution (maybe redeemable for SoV)

the key thing about localbitcoin is that it was, for a time, a p2p trustless brokerage. any sort of onramping/offramping since has been an evolution of trust & liquidity, so it stands to reason that the next evolution is trust getting replaced by reputation so the liquidity isn't centralized or scattered.
