what many miss about free wealth is that it does not get monetized by rent. we already litigated this with the NFT royalty debate, which settled on a reserve vs cap model rather than overriding Ethereum's permissionless architecture (cause that obviously devalues ETH). same will reoccur with whichever "metaverse" exists between agent-playable characters. different world-hosting schemes will issue fitness functions for agentic behavior to sustain itself longterm, the most viable of these schemes will align to a shared native rollup as indicated in the blob fee market, and whale game theory will capitalize whichever schemes can afford the most coherent fidelity and route the most compelling advertisement for free Thucydidean subjects to suffer what they must still, it's worth skeptically inquiring why whales will show up and pay the premium, but I don't doubt that media is the message, and immutable ledgers are host to provenance of vicarious grandeur. https://x.com/rehan_shei/status/2106548006350942533?s=20

could cast this to /geopolitics but w/e. I think that the fates of both superpower axes, US/Oceania & China/BRICS, are indelibly intertwined by the elements of FAL, namely capital-intensive industries like compute and robotics. both are critically dependent on the global consumer to justify credit and investment, both must concede the basis for this consumption is Georgist sprawl of wealth. in other words, both will either surpass or succumb to the scarcity of these synthetic resources. as long as China continues to develop DUV and scale agentic subcomponents like fixed decision-making architecture, there will be a global bloodbath among the margin of monetization by router/orchestrator platforms. otoh, there is a veto bandwagon that advocates against both axes. pick apart the epistemology, and there are many preferable to extinction if FAL is not privileged spoils by total capture. https://x.com/seldon_seen/status/2106559850671136819?s=20 https://x.com/seldon_seen/status/2106742675240026418?s=20

I first heard whisperings of Farcaster a few years ago, when a few people that were very active in the Ethereum app layer started casting about this new decentralized social network. there was already a couple of networks vying to become the next generation of town square. however promising this mantle was, it did not seem at the time to be feasible or scalable enough without some kind of special hack, and keep in mind that we take blob scaling for granted when it's only been around a few years. however, in that timespan, Farcaster clearly demonstrated that there is no bear market for cracked builders, and Merkle's commitment to building out a social network beyond web2 was astounding. there's just not that many teams, even in Ethereum, especially outside of core development, that produce this great a work. there's been a perceptibly determined focus since @v laid out the architecture, and @dwr wasn't only casting into the void; there simply hasn't been any other individual that has risen to doing all that work of self-evident leadership. one has to really sit with those facts; one has to respect the courage and competence to slog through bootstrapping this network to hundreds of thousands of participants around the world. Farcaster exists and Ethereum needs such immaculate vibes, just like the Infinite Garden exists and the world needs such a proven ecosystem. and what vibes there are, with @horsefacts.eth not just giving us /yoink or ouliposts, but a butter-smooth wallet among other cultural artifacts. Neynar has been very useful for many of the features on the social network, they've been at the bleeding edge, and I'm excited to see more of what they build. and yet, I'm wistfully aware that all of us on Farcaster owe these builders a debt of gratitude, even as the ecosystem shifts further over very precious time, and the world will not often experience such a rare enterprise from such a superb group of humans.

winning social for all the marbles in 2026 can be summed up in the word "skibidi" multimedia is more authentic, even if artificial, than the low-effort replyslop. the consumers you want to onboard still want to perceive their time being well-spent, which is why they prefer short content. however, they also desire max daydreaming escape, so they gravitate to serial short lore. hacking together this media format with a more competitive leaderboard that correctly distributes speculative upside is probably the most direct growth. imho, there is a finite opportunity before Polymarket, X, etc lock in their respective moats, and the beta in generative AI remains collaborative output.
