My theory why institutions are failing and what the west is seeing. The managerial class (laptop class) is now running most of the institutions because money favors incumbents and big corporations. The result is institutions that are run by mids.

while I generally agree, going back to @pmarca's reference to Henry Ford:

Ford didn't invent the assembly line, Ransom E. Olds did.
Ford didn't invent the Otto ICE, Nicolaus Otto did.

while Ford was shrewd & ambitious, it seems that working, desperate ppl actually innovate that success. imho, this isn't nominal yet.

apparatchiks are the worst. to reiterate my point, that doesn't mean the bourgeois are pivotal to technological windfall. innovation is the sacrificial meatgrinder of a billion failures, and even success can inevitably lead to obscurity.

however lionized he can be, Walt wasn't there for the golden age of Disney.

Felt this so much at Disney World this past weekend.

Managerial class is cutting food portions and quality while Walt and other founders would innovate to create value.
