most people never have to develop taste, just proximity. thats why we see such lame sloppish mediocrity at “high levels”. you know someone, youre In the room. taste becomes optional. tastelessness becomes the norm.

it’s almost like being close to certain people = being chosen. serve bare minimum and still get applauded. whereas, some others have to work twice to get that same access. sigh
