considering putting together a "proxy hack" basically - I have a few ideas I would like to see built out, and the ability to manage & fund the development of them I'm trying to figure out how to structure it to attract talented contributors and align incentives...but sort of feels like if $50-100k could fund a mid, official hackathon, that we could do a lot better with a lil less Theres some very obvious content strategies we could pair with it, that if done right could drive attention to the projects and a hack maps onto launchpad mechanics perfectly being realistic, it's unlikely we'll get support from larger projects, unlikely that we'll attract co-sponsors, and unlikely that we'll get invited to give talks at VC offices and all that (That stuff all comes after you do a couple hundred million in volume, dw) But if the trench whispers that filter down to me are at all accurate, I think we'd be able to get immediate feedback from users & the market, which is both endlessly useful & rare

It's a hackathon but i put together the teams and choose the ideas and fund them and help set up the economics of the projects and help strategize on and execute marketing for them all It's just like my private lil hackathon but mostly it's just an idea, idk yet, but I'm talking outloud because it helps me think through it!

Got it If I were to design a business or hackathon this would be the criteria: -no more crypto chains or defi aggregators of any kind -project should not be “crypto” but rather a business that naturally benefits from crypto (eg Bracky, /remix ) -project could attract consumers from outside crypto (break the circular economy) -project gets money in exchange for a service ppl actually want to use (eg bankr membership) -business starts with singular idea but could expand naturally to add products/services (bankr goes from swaps to limit orders to perps) Essentially all things you’d want in a regular business project. We’re dying to get good businesses here. “Why come to crypto?” Should be the question and the answer should not be “to make money”

Agree, we should be building products for web2 that use web3 underneath. Nobody marketed : Cloud operated social network back in the days. Simply a social network
