I argued with so many multisigners about this - who felt their role should be as hands off as possible.

If you’re elected by a community, you speak for that community.  You should be sharing your opinions and acting in accordance with you values.

Without the top members of the community acting as guides, the community will stand for nothing.

Totally disagree. Willingness to risk jail is less relevant, they all were willing to do that by virtue of their participation in BLA alone. They stupidly made a tremendous # of members all vulnerable at the same time — could have devastated the org. Not only were they vulnerable to the police, but to violence between one another because of the lack of awareness

In general I think we over-index on efficiency.  Yes 2x are risking jail but it also means 2x the amount of people of a “normal” org are willing to risk jail time AND it would appear their bank prioritization criteria are aligned.

So yeah it seems incompetent but they also did so much correctly, from an organization perspective.

That’s not resiliency to me. It’s ineffective and incompetent
