super stoked for @henri and the privy team but it makes you wonder who tf is going to ever unseat the existing infrastructure behemoths? is this just what the internet is now? https://privy.io/blog/announcing-our-acquisition-by-stripe

It’s the internet right now. Couple unicorns that don’t get acquired though (no shade at all to privy congrats on the hard work) and it’s a new paradigm.

I feel that the more regulatory frameworks become just normalized is when we see new small teams become unicorns and have no real incentive to sell if it’s not network or relationship based. Time will tell though. Agreed that right now the best outcomes are still nice, privy team works hard.

Man I’m just so pessimistic about regulatory frameworks saving us I really feel like we’re post-governmental-authority for the big players on the internet Obv us here/the little guy can and will still get stomped but unless we hardcore shift the entire country reeeeeeal left populist/anti-tech I don’t see the government doing much in terms of monopoly busting or anticompetitive prosecution chasing Add in the impending triple clusterfuck of AI media generation, crypto financial rails, and the hyper acceleration of internet cultural proliferation I just don’t see much room for classic govt support here
