I like the individual who said this so cropping their name, but this is the artist’s entitlement I used to really harp on in 21-23.

What is not being said here is that they (the archetype of artists) also “expect” reward at the end of this funnel. A funnel that describes being a “hobbyist.” 

Wouldn’t it be nice if it were that easy.

the recent redefinition of art is a detriment to it’s creation

There’s art and then art entertainment is how I currently see the world. And you can still adhere to your own code of art in the latter but it has costs. 

Lot of artists not admitting to themselves if they want to work in art entertainment or just make art.

Most artists do (myself in the past included). That’s one of the costs imo, that you contend with that from your peers once you make the switch. 

It’s a newer path too, not really founded yet.

art vs art entertainment is helpful here ty. i’ve been strictly separating art and entertainment [in a dismissive way] which im now realizing is unfair
