Learned today that just like computers and LLMs, humans suffer from memory recall through the phases of age. Computers early on had memory recall issues, as computers scaled and improved the problem went away. LLMs today are having memory recall issues, as LLMs scale and improve the problem will go away. Humans are the only ones who repeatedly go through the same memory problem, until humans scale and improve and the problem goes away. The example that made me realize this, my daughter repeatedly recalls moments in time where she mixes details of different experiences. We used to think she "lies" but I'm starting to realize it's no different than "hallucinating" and connecting instances that actually didn't happen together but in close proximity.

Adults go through this in stressful situations or when trying to recall details of a memory that happened long ago. When an adult can't recall, they are able to more objectively state the memory is not recallable. This ability to see into memories clearness, or fuzziness, will also be a future state of LLMs.
