Boomers on Base: Using AMEX as an onramp to Coinbase -------------------- My dad called me to ask about the new AMEX card to earn Bitcoin. This is a huge potential unlock for Coinbase. American Express' customer base is 1/3 Baby Boomers. There is no public data about Coinbase by age cohort but estimates say 5% are Boomers. AMEX could expose their 20 Million Boomers to Bitcoin without them ever having to understand the underlying tech or set up a wallet and need a seed phrase. My dad is reluctant to trust new things. We don't think crypto is new, but to him its scary, scam riddled, and extremely hard to navigate. He knows what Bitcoin is, but won't jump in. But he trust AMEX as a brand and now he wants to play. I haven't been this excited in a while. Might be time to get more Coinbase stock. My credit card churner friends are also pumped.

This sounds interesting, the truth is that older people, the Baby Boomers generation, are averse to technology, they handle themselves in a simpler way, they are people used to checks and bank the traditional, and I must accept that, really for the new ones it is a very scary world, a mistake you make in a transfer and you can't call anyone to solve it. But I'm glad you are now encouraged to play. By the way, I'm getting to know Clip.fun. let's see how it goes.
