Try again with a different make up artist. Each MUA isn’t equipped with the same skill to execute the vision. As a professional model/on camera person, I’ve felt many many many times that the make up artist executed a vision that didn’t align with what I’d consider a ‘miracle’ but whenever I did get a MUA who truly saw me and knew what to do, it was miraculous. Sorry today didn’t hit the mark. Don’t be discouraged, try try again. 🫶

Oh, it’s nothing personal toward the makeup artist. There have been very many make up artists who I liked personally who simply didn’t want to obscure my “natural “ beauty or felt the “natural look” looked better on me. I spent my entire career hinting at my desire for dramatic Smokey eyes lol. Here’s my made up no makeup looking look. I don’t have the bold look photos here to share. (But if I find one, I’ll do a side by side to share.) Photography by Trevor Gale.

🙏 You’re kind to say so! Though imagine my surprise wen after all that time in the makeup chair I looked in the mirror and saw that I looked only like myself! Even my lips didn’t have a gloss. This is full make up. It just wasn’t the dramatic vision I had in mind. Not enough highlighting, too light an application and/or not the right colors on eyes and lips and cheeks to produce a big effect. I could describe it like I got the makeup job we see on a in a grocery store food commercial vs the make up job we would see on the cover of Vogue magazine. We wanted VOGUE, right? I am curious too to see your photo! But respecting your privacy if you dint wanna sbare today. Maybe when you do get the Vogue make up job you hoped for, you’ll grace us with your side-by-side? 🍿I’m willing to wait!
