Your business is a reflection of yourself, good and bad. What's interesting about it is that I feel like it makes me have to look at and try to understand more about the bad to help the business succeed. If I was just an employee, I don't know if I would work on myself as much or even be as aware of my bads. Don't know if this is the direction you were going with "developing my soul" but this is what it made me think of

I don't really think much about myself as "good" or "bad". All I think about is how I can serve my customers better, and how they can be happier. I'm not Christian but I do identify with "being in service to others". Developing my soul to me is more about exploring what it means to do this well, and the means to do that for me is developing great products that people love! As an employee I've kept this same value through every startup I've worked for :)
