I bought ETH and gambled (and loss) a lot of it during ICO mania. I didnt have a full appreciate of the tech, the roadmap, or what the purpose was. I just saw “number go up” and wanted in. As prices fell in 2018, I just sort of wrote it off as a loss and it wasn’t until late 2019 when I saw that my company (a typically conservative, large financial services firm) investing resources to provide services around the Ethereum blockchain, that I was like, damn, if they’re in, I’m in, and I started researching and started buying in.
I bought a bunch of ETH (for me) in 2019, early 2020 and then covid dumped everything and I bought more. Then came DeFi summer, NFT mania, etc. and I just continued to add to my bag (I may have even bought close to ATHs) as I saw the potential use cases start to come to fruition.
I’m not technical by any means, but I see the potential and the value in a decentralized, borderless, neutral, censorship-resistant open blockchain (cc: @yes2crypto.eth for the tag line 😜) 1 reply
