I told my dad about duolingo and told him to study mandarin, they rely on me mostly when we go to mandarin speaking places, so it would be useful for them when I’m not available.

My dad told me just now he’s on his 24th day streak, and just subscribed to duo premium. It’s working!

Since we're having a real time AI translator I don't think Duolingo is gonna stay relevant for long. I mean I barely speak unless I have to, so i don't need to learn so many languages unless my AI malfunctions on a date 😂.

Not everyone is gonna be a builder, crypto nerd or whatever. I'm here to cast my thoughts and do some sh!tposting; yeah I said that.

still being able to read and speak the languages directly is a huge upgrade and experience than using a real time ai translator which is prone to wrong interpretations

you will know what the locals are talking about, be able to do business, job opportunities, etc
