I’d also add in generalized counter party risk-> decentralized on-chain lenders of Celsius, 3AC, and other bankrupt players last cycle were paid back in full where as off chain centralised creditors were not 🤔

So obv I’m here so I broadly agree that this is where things should head, but tbh we’re not anywhere close to AAVE lenders being above clawbacks haha - if the courts eventually rule to enforce the debt tranches those junior creditors will be liable for paying it back if they owe it

The locked collateral is the base layer answer yes - but the decentralized nature is what protected the protocol from the lawyers.
You can’t do clawbacks of Aave lenders = they were defacto the most senior creditors. Decentralization is the secret sauce 🥫
