I’m going on my first bachelorette party sober this weekend! Also my first bachelorette party ever but that’s not the point. I’m 2.5 years sober and things like this still make me nervous. When I was younger I imagined these events would look a lot different. Listen, I am still the life of the party. That hasn’t changed. But sobriety has its ups and downs and these events take a lot of prep and mindfulness now. Will of course keep all of my new internet friends updated but please send good vibes 💖

Congrats on 2.5 yrs! Not sure which aspect makes you nervous but remember you are 100x more self conscious about what you think people think of what you are doing than they really are.

Haha that’s a great perspective. I don’t know why I’m nervous! Not that I’ll drink but that I’ll feel left out? Idk! It’s a funny feeling haha

That's kind of what I figured with my comment....people will be glad you are being successful on sobriety. I'd be honest with anyone and not hide it, but if you are still the life of the party, you won't squash any fun.

True, these are my close friends so they totally get it. I think it’s good to process this stuff before I get there and process it in real time haha but o am planning on bringing the energy! We’re going to Costa Rica so there will be lots of fun to be had with or without alcohol!
