In hindsight, the zealous libertarianism that defined early crypto culture is looking like it was mostly virtue signaling. The principles disappeared as wealth and power grew. 

Many early leaders now seem more comfortable with authoritarian state power & corruption than Wall Street ever was.

My man!  most are just building new types of intermediaries.  I believe this is why adoption stalls, people realize it’s not different so why bother.
