For anyone wondering why we’re so worried about drones these days, even though we’ve done many aid deliveries before, it’s because this war is evolving and so are the dangers.

In the past, it was possible to use drone jammers to take down russian drones by disrupting their signal. Some of you might remember me sharing, during our last frontline delivery, how we used the jammer we were bringing to the medics on our way there before handing it over.

But that’s no longer as effective in many places, because now they’re using FPV drones controlled via fiber-optic cable, which creates an uninterruptible link between the drone and its operator, eliminating the risk of signal jamming. So in this case we have no tools to stop them from blowing up our vehicle…

While Ukrainians use them on the battlefield, russians use them to commit war crimes against civilians. That’s why you’re seeing more and more successful drone attacks on medics, journalists & aid workers - often resulting in injury or death.

Here’s a russian FPV drone that was downed by a drone jammer. If the jammer hadn’t taken it down, it would have been yet another russian war crime. These carry explosives and can travel up to 20 km. russians currently use them to hunt down any cars driving through frontline cities and villages, and even people walking.

Unlike the fiber-optic drones I shared about earlier, these can be jammed and taken down, so if you are driving and have a jammer in your car, your chances of not being killed by one are higher.

The drone is fully operational. Some improvements will be made by the drone lab, and then we will sent it to our military, hopefully to be flown straight back towards the army of russian invaders to deliver some karma 🪃

You shouldn't have to live with that kind of fear, or rage, or grief. And it's deeply fucked that so many people actively choose to fund that violence with open eyes.

What’s even more chilling is how casual the crowdfunding for drones is on the Russian side. Genocide isn’t abstract, it’s GoFundMe with murder as the goal 🥺🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

The desire for even psychological retaliation, just to make them feel what they’ve caused is so understandable. You don’t need to justify that feeling. Pls stay safe out there. 🫡🫶🏽🫶🏽

Yeah, russians use them to kill and injure our civilians, aid workers (that’s how my friend lost an arm and a leg), ambulances, medics, etc. and we repurpose them and send them back to the battlefield to use on the war criminals who operate them and commit those atrocities. 

Even though I’m not gonna lie, I sometimes wish regular russian people would have to fear these too, not to harm them, but at least to make them fucking terrified for their damn lives, so they can feel what this war they support so much actually feels like. It would feel fair. But I doubt even that would make them stop supporting it or Putin.

Btw, fun fact: a lot of russian students crowdfund for these drones that kill volunteers like myself, medics, and aid workers, I see their fundraisers daily (and yes they are clear on what these are used for). So if I get taken out, it might not even be the evil russian government that provided it, but some 20-year-old who just hates Ukrainians and supports genocide 🙃
