Fun fact: there’s a nearly identical alternative to Base that isn’t affiliated with military parades and cynical political quid pro quo. Incidentally, it’s called Optimism, and, its technology stack is what Base is built using. There’s a DAO, a token, and everything; even Farcaster is built on Optimism.

Farcaster is on Optimism and not Base? I thought it was on Base.

Base is a fork of Optimism, but Casts are on OP while reactions / follow lives on Base.
But I think it changed recently when Farcaster migrated to their own chain: Snapchain (but the news went under the radar because of a Jesse drama if I remember correctly)

One day everything will be interoperable withing the OP ecosystem anyway

Ok, so they used to split between both OP and BASE but now they have their own L2 Snapchain (which is an OP fork as well).

Thanks for the clarification.. yes im really looking forward to not just OP interop but alot more L2 in general interop.
