Saying "this is a good idea" and committing is a muscle you can exercise. I'd venture to guess that the best and most successful artists are just well practiced in recognising their best ideas and committing. It's similar to the muscle you're exercising when you walk up to new people and start conversations. You have to expect to fail sometimes, and also expect the opposite. In the meditation world, we have this concept of not too tight and not too loose, like the strings of a fiddle, and I think we can apply this to this muscle too. Jumping on every idea may not be the best idea, but letting too many go un-acted upon can lead to stagnation also. I feel like I'm coming out of a period of stagnation.
