Does anyone feel Stripe API is becoming complicated? The last time I used it was almost ten years ago, and dev UX felt so good, but now it feels like a pile of features and abstractions that makes it hard to do simple stuff like SaaS subs with add-ons.

The payment rails themselves became more complicated; Europe started regulating 2FA for most credit card charges which changed charging a credit card from a sync to an async operation

Stripe feels complicated because crypto is elegant and has set a new base line.
