people who donate regularly to charity or research: what organization(s) do you support and why? 

did you vet the org at all to be sure about how your money is being used? 

i want to start giving regularly but i’m not quite sure where to begin as having even worked at an NGO myself i know how funds aren’t always actually spent on the cause. i’d like to support reforestation or consciousness research or perhaps even art programs, or all of the above 

i guess the best approach is probably to find something in your community that you trust, but curious to hear from others on this!

I've set up an automatic monthly donation to a local dog shelter that I've personally visited (brought some dog food and old blankets, walked the dogs there)

I think it's important to have an emotional connection like that, every time the donation is sent out from my bank account I remember those dogs and the people that make a huge effort to make their lives comfortable 🥺
