Reading this piece, while a bit different, reminded me of my January struggles 🙂↕️ I haven’t yet had the courage to kill my 64k Instagram but I believe I would feel a similar relief after doing it. I feel so far away from that person I was on there. What many consider a blessing was in reality a burden and factor of stress for me. There was a point where I felt like serving an overlord, studying ever changing algorithms that would never work in my favor, fighting way too many bot accounts and their DMs and of course the posting schedule was insane. At the beginning of this year I decided to at least abandon it and only post if someone requests my amplification. I also use it as a DM tool to communicate with folks I don’t have as a contact on any other platform. But the final courage is not yet here…

I stopped using IG when Facebook bought it. But I still keep the account. It’s useful sometimes, particularly when dealing with non-online types.

Yeah I know buuuuut it gets harder with the followers you have and because of my own project I am still very relient on that audience. This is why it is such a pain for me. FB I haven't used actively in ages though ... just dislike it too much and all it indirectly or directly stands for. And I know it is somewhat ignorant to then still use IG 🫠 🥲
