what's the significance of the wood thingie instead of the rope thingie other candles have

good question! 

heres the differences: 
- processing cotton wicks take a lot more chemicals to process than wooden wicks 
- my wooden wicks are fsc certified, so the wood comes from responsibly managed forests, you can read more about the certification here: https://us.fsc.org/en-us/certification
- cotton wicks are cheap and i only use premium products at /humankind 
- cotton wicks don't crackle, if you listen carefully to your candle you'll hear it crackling :)
