I feel for kids these days because they don't get to experience game breakthroughs like this we went from sidescrollers to Mario 64 in the span of a few years, nowadays they just get the same game repackaged over and over with new paid content

the best part of growing in the late 90s/early 00s was spending the night at your friend's house so you could play first person shooters on their TV with 4-person split screen then we hit high school and suddenly you could do that all the time with Halo + Xbox Live (at the peak of life with no responsibilities) we had an absurdly blessed timeline

I remembered when I got my first Symbian phone and i installed fight night and real football first ever 3D games after java. My friends never let my phone rest, everyday in school during break time was about my phone always playing games.
