L just realized the Trump admin took down the map that let you assess climate risk in your city/state Went to the website, saw it not load and then followed up to learn I missed the last chance to check by *days* https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2025/07/02/climate/national-climate-assessment-websites

Reckon there’s a private version? Always feel insulated from the federal actions cause mass is so dialed in on climate issues generally https://resilientma-mapcenter-mass-eoeea.hub.arcgis.com https://www.mass.gov/info-details/massachusetts-climate-change-assessment

idk I just think this kind of petty thing is lame You are settled in mass What about people who need or want to move and want to factor in climate resilience into where they try to go I feel like we should encourage people to get ahead of stuff like this but maybe I’m tripping They say they are going to put it back at NASA someday but it’s not back up yet so I’m not holding my breath FEMA has a decent proxy with the hazards map https://hazards.fema.gov/nri/map

Yeah I imagine folks could chatbot a conversation, yet agree there should be a place. We settled here primarily for family reasons; yet if I had to revisit the choice independent of that 20 years ago it would have been to better understand the long term housing costs/dynamics at play - Massachusetts feels kinda bleak for me when I consider our kids future and question how they’re ever going to be able to afford housing if they want to stay here.
