I got into a huge fight today with someone who believes Elon is this free speech savior. I don’t I think he is censorious just in the opposite direction And more than that .. you know, it’s his right to do that. He owns the place. Parag ran it how he wanted and now Elon can too. You’re in their house you play by their rules. It’s not offensive in either direction actually Having access to a Facebook/YouTube/Twitter/Instagram account is a nice to have It’s not some inalienable right. We lived most of our lives without these things, and you are absolutely free to go say slurs or spew anti semitism or whatever you want, on your own website or in your own home. Or I guess now, in the Elon Regime, it’s say “cisgender”

Ironically this is why Bluesky feels so overindexed the other way It seems like a protest vote with bits of decentralization that don’t trigger anti-crypto sentiment

It’s depressing. I value civility most of all rather than a monoculture? But we can’t be civil across political lines anymore? I actually view rw as inhumane at this point given the cesspool that is x. Blue Sky to its credit is just as psycho but less mean
